The Southwest New Mexico Transition Center, has been distributing food and clothing for a year now. They also have been working on helping other veterans get back on their feet. The biggest goal is help as much as possible all veterans. All veterans will somehow be helped if they reach out to SWNMTC.

The Organization is now serving around 110 families a month. The food distribution is the first Wednesday of every month.  Registration starts at 9 oclock with the distributing starting around 10 oclock.   Veterans, their families and any veteran widows can obtain food.   First timers need to bring in the Veterans DD-214.
The group is gearing up for their fund raisers:   Indoor Swap meet in April 2018 and a raffle ticket sales are starting in April and with the drawing on July 4th.  This year the raffle will be an American Quilt that was donated by the Marion Corps detachment from Silver City, New Mexico.
1st New Mexico Bank handed out its annual holiday awards to benefit local organizations in the community. This year's recipients of the monetary checks were the Deming-Luna County Commission on Aging and the Southwest New Mexico Transition Center. The COA operates the Deming Senior Citizen's Center on a tight budget and the SWNMTC is a program that helps veterans.

Basic Body Hygiene

We are also working on getting facilities to provide hot showers.

Clothing and Supplies

We have also had some clothing donations and some supplies donated to us for distribution. We are still working on getting more with donations and families who will donate for the cause.

Food Distribution

Food distribution has been handed out for a year now by the SWNMTC in 4045 Overhill Drive NE Deming, New Mexico. Although we distribute food monthly to 100 households we have strived to get as much food as possible with what we can. We had a wonderful donation from Albertson's for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was enough for 64 families. Thank You Albertson's!!

Safe Day Sleeping

We have not gotten facilities for a sleeping facility but are working on ways to get it working.
